Created by fans and for fans, Metanozine is a platform that allows you to contribute to our worlds without the need to write an entire novel. Whether you're a seasoned writer, an aspiring student looking to hone your craft, or simply a fan eager to share your ideas, Metanozine is the perfect place to showcase your creativity.
We accept submissions from all ages, as long as they meet our quality standards, making this a fantastic opportunity for young writers and artists to gain experience and have their work published. It’s important to note that Metanozine operates separately from any licensing agreements and is entirely dedicated to celebrating and promoting the incredible talent within our fan community.
At Metanozine, everything we do is about shining a spotlight on your contributions. We’re excited to see how you’ll add to these beloved worlds!
How Metanozine Works:
Metanozine is a yearly magazine dedicated to showcasing the creative works of our fan community. Each edition will be made available for free, to download as a PDF on our website, with the magazine going live on August 19th.
The submission deadline for each year's edition is July 1st. Any submissions received after this date will be considered for the following year's magazine. This gives us time to curate and polish the content, ensuring that every issue of Metanozine is a true celebration of the creativity and passion of our fans.
Short Story Submission Guidelines:

Accepted Formats:
Please submit your work as either a Word document (.docx) or a PDF (.pdf).
Email Subject Line:
Clearly state that your email is a submission for Metanozine in the subject line.
Author Information:
In the body of your email, include your full name and how you would like to be credited in the magazine.
Word Count:
Submissions should be between 2,000 and 10,000 words in length.
Creative Freedom:
While you are encouraged to create your own characters, nations, or even worlds within our established settings, please ensure that your work remains true to the existing canon.
Content Restrictions:
Keep in mind that Metanozine is intended for a wide audience, including younger readers. As such, we ask that you avoid overly graphic violence, explicit content, or depictions of sexual acts.
Submission Limits:
There is no limit to the number of submissions you can send, but please submit only one story per email.
Rejection and Feedback: If your submission is not accepted, we will provide a brief explanation. You are welcome to revise and resubmit your work.
Quality Expectations:
Please proofread your work thoroughly before submitting. While we have a small editing team, we expect submissions to be as polished as possible.

If you’re passionate about these worlds and want to share your artistic vision with fellow fans, here’s how you can submit your work to be featured in our magazine.
Submission Guidelines

Please submit your artwork as high-resolution files in either .PNG, .JPEG, or .TIFF format. Ensure your file is at least 300 DPI to maintain quality in print.

We’re excited to announce that Metanozine will feature up to 24 exclusive short stories based on requests from our fans!
Here's how you can submit a request:
First Come, First Served:
Only 24 slots are available, so get your requests in early!

Choose from Our Universes:
Your short story request must be based on one of our established settings: Metanoverse, Stjarnaheim, Sodaverse, or Maho Cosmos. You can also request a shorty story from any of our stand alone works.

Email Submission:
Send your request to themetanoverse@gmail.com with the subject line: "Short Story Requests."
Request Description: In the body of your email, include a description of your requested short story in 500 words or less.
Recognition in the Magazine:
If your request is selected, we will write up the story based on your idea and include your name in the magazine as the requester.

Disclaimer for Metanozine Submissions:
To ensure the release of Metanozine, we require a minimum of 25 written submissions and 5 fan art submissions before publication.
If we do not meet this minimum by the submission deadline, the magazine’s release will be delayed by a year.
Please note that accepted submissions will remain valid even in the case of a delay, so there is no need to resubmit your work if it has already been approved for publication.
